WORTH CONSUMING!

I had not seen the film before today, but it had already affected my behavior/lifestyle as the environmental message preceded it via word of mouth. Rarely does a documentary have the power to change global opionion and spur us to action. This one does. By all means, see it, then do something, before it really is too late.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Okay, so I am about 20 minutes through the “documentary,” and nothing has really grabbed my attention so far. It’s basically just been a long lecture from Al Gore and his monotonous, droning voice. It’s putting me to sleep!

Well, I haven’t given up entirely. I will finish it eventually. I’ve just already watched several other intriguing movies today, this one just does not fit in.

I’m not really learning anything either, but we’ll see later on. I’ll get back to it in a while.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It’s educative if you have no ideas of what is global warming. But if you exactly know what it is, movie will give you nothing. Also with all those Al Gore propaganda it becomes much more boring. This is docu-ganda (documentary + propaganda).

WORTH CONSUMING!

Because of this documentary, I became a vegetarian. Through that, I’ve also paid more attention to my environmental footprint, and became more involved in politics. This is a great starting point for those wondering about global warming, and why anyone should care about it. The book of the same title is excellent, as well.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Besides the importance of the environmental message, this movie made me respect Al Gore so much more. He is articulate, passionate, and determined in this. The film showcases the numerous setbacks that he’s faced while putting out the message. Anyone else would have given up. I don’t know if I could face that much criticism and that many annoying people and still be able to go out there and keep on pushing. Big ups to him.

I also liked that he took time to present the naysayers and doubters perspective and then to show those people facts to clear up their misperceptions. I liked that he did this in a way that didn’t make them feel little or stupid.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is Al Gore’s movie. It’s obvious from the very beginning that he’s seriously passionate about this issue. WATCH THIS MOVIE! Then make changes in your life!!! I can’t watch that animation of the drowning polar bear come to fruition in reality!!!!

WORTH CONSUMING!

SHOCKING, TERRIFYING, EYE-OPENING

I’ve always been environment conscious, but seeing this makes you realized that it’s even worst than you think. All this, our little Earth could be gone in a blink of an eye. That means us too. No Earth, no us.

I can’t believe A LOT people still don’t believe global warming is real. IT’S REAL PEOPLE!

Glaciers are melting at alarming rates, animals and people are dying: Polar bears are drowning (bye bye ice they need), hurricanes, typhoons and other geological events are killings millions of people, droughts are killing other millions of people. It’s not a little rain here and little rain there; it’s too much rain at one time or none at all.

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO WATCH THIS MOVIE

PEOPLE WHO DON’T BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING, WAKE UP AND SMELL OUR DYING EARTH, WAKE UP AND LOOK AT THE CLIMATE CRISIS WE ARE FACING AND CAN AVOID IF WE START TO MAKE MAJOR CHANGES NOW!

It affects us all. We could have 0 carbon emissions if we wanted too.

  • Clean, renewable energy – all vehicles, all homes, buildings (work, schools, apartment, hotels, manufacturers, factories, etc.)
  • Ban disposable items – use reusable, refillable, washable items
For those items that we have to throw out: Floss, women’s hygiene products, diapers (the disposable ones), bathroom, facial tissues, napkins, paper towels, garbage, poop bags, dryer sheets, etc. (make them 100% post-consumer, biodegradable and compostable. And for women’s hygiene products and diapers – bleached without chlorine, and dryer sheets, use reusable/washable/biodegradable ones instead of disposable and ban disposable ones.
  • Ban non-degradable plastics (bags, disposable tableware, containers, etc.) and only make and use biodegradable and compostable plastics.
  • Ban non-recyclable items
  • Make environment education in schools mandatory
  • Use environment-friendly inks for all printers (at work, home, in schools, commercial printers, etc – ex: soy ink), and for pens (like corn oil)
  • Support local farms, buy locally-grown produce (less emissions from transporting the produce), grow/buy organic
Teach children to be environment-friendly from the day they are born
  • Buy energy-efficient appliances, front-leading washing machines, hang clothes to dry instead of using the dryer
  • Use fluorescent light bulbs – ban incandescent
  • Walk, bike, roller blade, or take the bus –don’t drive
  • Only make and sell 100% post-consumer items (printer paper, bathroom, facial tissues, paper towels, napkins – heck everything ever made!)
  • Plant trees, donate money to a environmental organization to plant trees (for yourself and in somebody else’s name)
  • Give environmental gifts
  • AND SO MUCH MORE: It’s easy being green, just look online for A LOT more tips on how to reduce your ecological footprint.

IF WE ALL DO SOMETHING, WE CAN ALL WIN AND SAVE OUR PRECIOUS EARTH AND OURSELVES

WORTH CONSUMING!

I watched this movie and I really enjoyed it. As a response to the previous comment, I would say that even if it was a political move on Al Gore’s part, many of the points brought up in his presentation are valid. I’ve heard many people attack the movie by attacking Al Gore (ad hominem fallacy, attack the person not the ideas). However, I think the concerns are what are truly important to take away from your experience of watching this film. We can only hope that he practices what he preaches. Nonetheless, we still have a responsibility to act and create change in areas we feel are important enough and require change. I enjoyed the movie because it gave me the desire to look further into this crisis, and try to do what I can to at least create change in my daily practices.
