I rented this for my older stepchildren (12 and 15) because I figured it was a movie they probably hadn’t seen (or heard of, turns out). Very Bond for teenagers, but enjoyable. I liked seeing such a wide range of notable actors and the kids enjoyed all of the action and tech toys. Not a lot of character development, but I appreciated that the filmmakers didn’t talk down to their prospective audience (teenagers) or do a lot of tongue-in-cheek/this one’s for the adults humor. The violence was there, but tuned down enough that I wasn’t worried when my 4-year-old stepdaughter came into the room and watched a couple of scenes, but it didn’t appeal to her at all. Sure, it could have been a lot better, but I kind of expected a lot worse from its practically direct-to-DVD release. My main problem with it was a very lackluster score.
