The main problem with Angel is that most of what I like comes from Buffy and there isn’t much “original” stuff, at least in the first two seasons. Doyle was original but he didn’t hang around long and was replaced by Wesley, making the whole cast all well-known Buffy characters.

The best episodes of this season also follow that logic – I most prefered the crossovers, like Five by Five and especially the heart-wrenching I Will Remember You. Don’t get me wrong, there aren’t any “really bad” episodes, it’s just that most of them are a bit forgettable, with a demon of the week and no overall arc. I did however like the Kate character and the idea of lawyers as the evil ones is interesting.

The DVDs are a bit lacking, I felt there were less bonus materials than on the Buffy sets. Still a few interesting commentaries & featurettes that complements the season well.
