Oh, yes! Amanda and Brian! — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I am a total whore for the Dresden Dolls. Ever since I heard Miss Me from their first album a while ago I have been fascinated with the power of Amand’s lyricism and the way that Brian plays.

I really relate with the songs on these albums because of my family background (which I am sure is something that Amanda hears often) and the struggle that I have faced to not repeat abuses dealt to me and to break the cycle of behaviour.

I love Brain’s playing because of the way that he gives voice to his kit. He doesn’t just keep time with snare and bass, but each of his drums are a different note within a different instrument. There is nothing that is as pure an example of this than the drum introduction to Half Jack on the Paradise DVD.

Amanda and Brian.. you have expanded my mind. Thankyou.

A story about this — 3 years ago

Very much in the style of their earlier album, you’ll enjoy it in direct proportion to how much you enjoyed their earlier work.

A question I have about this — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love the tracks that I have from this album, but I can’t find Sex Changes or My Alcoholic Friends. Can anyone point me in the direction of a site that I can download these on?

Also, what happened to Ampersand?

Very nice album — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I gathered they would be an American indie outfit, in the realm of the three-word-bands such as Third Door Down, or Fifth Eye Out. Anyway, these are not. Piano-laden tracks with strong lyrics and melodies to boot, make this a strong album. Get it.
