Over 60 years old, but still very watchable — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Is this the original ‘wish I was never born’ movie? I think it might just be. It’s that type of movie that puts a smile on your face. There were some small things that I found very inventive, like the record player rotating the chicken over the open fire. And I just loved the old telephones, though of course at that time they were just regular telephones. With todays mobile with speaker mode, George and Mary might have never gotten together.

It’s funny how the setup of a movie like this is so completely different from movies nowadays. Most of this movie is spent proving what a great guy George is and the bit where the angel makes it so ‘he never was’ is rather short. It’s also very chronological. This makes it al sort of slow, for modern day standards. But even then, for a movie over 60 years old, it’s still a pretty good watch.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Call me a sucker, but I love to see and hear of the average man getting a break; They used to show this film right after The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and now they started showing The Dog Show and folks down here are still sore about that.
