I am a huge Douglas Preston + Lincoln Child team fan, but honestly the book was a huge disappointment. Unlike other recent books, it actually started to get better nearer the end, but at least 75% of the book was just “blah” and predictable. Interestingly, it’s full of good scenes and ideas in retrospect, but as I was reading them they just didn’t seem that striking. There were only a few sections that were real “page turners” and the rest was… well, as I said, “blah.”

I would have still read it if I knew how it would be because it does reveal some information and move the characters forward. And I’ll still probably read the next one.
