A story about this — 3 years ago
I started out disliking this book and wondering if I was even going to bother to finish reading it, but I ended up liking it. The story started out slow, but it got more interesting. However, the author annoyed me quite a bit by being a name-dropper. She spends an inordinate amount of time talking about high fashion, which I guess makes sense, because the story was about Helen who works in a high-fashion retail shop, but at the same time, I think constant name-dropping just means that an author isn’t descriptive enough to get their point across without flooding the pages with brand names.
