Could have been much better. The whole Phoenix story was done far more interestingly in the cartoon series I remember from childhood, and the concept of the ‘cure’ is shunted to one side too often. IMDb has some interesting comments on the different stages of scriptwriting, which does sort of explain the lack of focus. Some interesting ideas, some interesting new characters, some interesting loose threads left.

Bring on Wolverine!

Like all the other X-Men movies, such a disappointment. Sigh….

Like most sequels, it’s not as good as the original, but it makes a neat continuation of the story set up in the first two films in the series. Special effects are excellent. Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry and company turn in their usual fine performances as the mutants who would save mankind from itself. There’s a hint at a possible Part IV, so The Final Stand may noy be so final.
