WORTH CONSUMING!

Well, sort of.

This portable version of Bust-A-Move is definitely made to be played on the go. There are literally hundreds of puzzles spread through a ton of different modes ranging from classic to the new ghost mode, and it’s more than enough to keep you busy for a few hours.

The downside is that everything is squeezed onto a small screen which makes precision shots incredibly hard to make. Not to mention your eyes are going to be killing you after half an hour or so. The physics are better than the older versions of the game, but still don’t feel as solid as the PS2 versions, meaning you’ll have to get used to the feel of the game if you’re an avid player of said versions.

Another thing that kind of gets annoying is the fact that Majesco decided to make a single consistent theme for the game, which is kind of Halloween-ish. Seriously, every background is the same, and the same “spooky” songs recycle every ten levels or so. It gets old fairly quickly. It makes you miss the eye-catching (distracting) backgrounds of Super Bust-A-Move 2 and even the incredibly odd, kiddy songs.

The game isn’t bad if you love the series as much as I do, but it definitely could have benefited from some extra features and variety. Otherwise, it’s a solid puzzle game for the PSP that’ll keep you hooked for hours. Just be sure to take a break when your eyes start to bleed.
