WORTH CONSUMING!

A modern faerie tale marketed at young adults but just as riveting for adults. Enter the dangerous world of the faerie courts and experience a world of magic, power and strange desires. Tithe takes the traditional faerie tale plot (involving evil queens, reluctant heroes and an unlikely love) and twists it into a thrilling story I simply couldn’t put down. This book is an easy read, but the characters are well written, reacting in believable ways to unbelievable situations. Definitely worth the read!

the characters are so real and so dynamic! i love it! i wanted more, i wanted a million more books about their lives! this is what writing is meant to be! and this is the first! after this comes valiant, and then ironside. the characters overlap and for that i am soooo thankful! i can not get enough and i will add it to my personal library very soon!

WORTH CONSUMING!

Sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother’s rock band until an ominous attack forces Kaye back to her childhood home. There, amid the industrial, blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye soon finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms—a struggle that could very well mean her death.

When Kaye discovers she’s actually a Changeling (changed at birth), her whole world starts to get really confusing, and some of the new friends she’s met could possibly be her worst enemies.

I really enjoyed this book, which portrays the struggle between the Seelie and the Unseelie Court of Faerie. It is dark and suspenseful, and definitely doesn’t refer to the light fairy which perches on flowers and flutters about. I’m anxiously looking forward to book 2, Valiant, which is also waiting here on Mt. TBR.

WORTH CONSUMING!

If you like books with a dark edge and enough detail to make the writting beautiful but not boring, then this is it.

This book gives a whole new meaning to the word “faerie tale”. It’s dark, suspenseful, and the LAST image that came to mind after reading this was of a winged creature sitting in a flower with a rainbow behind it.

The faerie world has unnervingly similar pannels to the “real” one, where good is not good, and evil is not evil. Everything is grey, but in lighter and darker shades. It’s real. It’s not all fluffy “tra-la-la”, hero gets the princess whatever garbadge. It’s full of hidden meanings, secret truths, and a wondrous blend of horror and romance.

This book (and it’s “sequel”, Valiant) are simply breathtaking.

I am DYING for the final installment of this series, Ironside, which is coming out in May.

Expect a nice long review for it come June (at latest) :D

WORTH CONSUMING!

an entertaining story that mixes the real world with a realm of faeries, and not tiny flittering cutesy faery’s, these are cool one’s. i was reading this while on vacation in california, and i still couldn’t put it down.
