I think as knitwitsl that this book is a good start to the series, but it’s not good for anything else. I think it’s the worst fiction I ever read. Because I am very choosy I always select the books with good reviews and so, but this book isn’t good (for me enough). And I think that the sequels are written the same style.
The best thing about books at generally is that they have descriptions. In the movies you see something and you can’t do with it anything else than watch it. But when you read a book you can imagine everything by yourself. With Magician’s Nephew it was a bit hard. The descriptions were really bad written, the static ones and the dynamic ones were definitely the worst descriptions I ever read. I hardly imagined anything, and the characters were not described at all. And some situations were really unreal, kids were in the other worlds like it’s everyday routine and the dialogues were absurd too.
Finally I like the maid from the house. She did like two things in whole book and she were never described, but I laughed whenever I read a comment about her. I think that if Mr. Lewis would wrote a book about this maid it would be better than this one.
But as I said, really bad written, but really good story. I think that the movie (based on sequel to this book) is much better alternative / choice.
