I did enjoy this story even though it is a fictional writing. I identified with Alice in a way that was a little scary and it brought about sadness.

A very strong and well written story. Highly recommend it.

I read this book as a teenager, and admit that it did have some impact on me. However, I’ve subsequently learned that it’s not an actual diary – it was written as a morality lesson, by an adult woman. So, fiction, not non-fiction.

i think this is one of those books that you have to read in middle school.
