Even after learning this book was not a real account of a teenage druggie (Shocker…), the details and structure of this book still make it worth reading. Anyone who liked the Crank or Cut books, and the diary-type style of writing, will enjoy this book.

Although I read it Junior High and it was not quite as effective as I am sure the author intended it to be, I have always remembered it quite vividly.

I hated this book, and I remember all my friends reading it when we were 12 and taking it SO seriously. Well it was about as effective as the DARE program, cos half of them have been in rehab by now. And I’m sorry, only a middle aged man would think adolescent girls talk or act like that.

Do people not realise that this book is fake? I suspected it when I first read it as a kid…

Good book to give to your teenagers if you’re looking to scare them off drugs. I know it certainly kept me from trying any of the harder stuff myself.
