A story about this — 3 years ago
Got this as a Christmas present and had it finished by Dec 28. Written by a Harvard ethnobiologist, this book details the author’s explorations of Haitian society in order to discover the truth behind zombification. I must say it’s an intriguing book, and it’s certainly changed my idea of witches in medieval times forever. Also an interesting look at Haitian society and history. But I enjoyed the first two parts of the book a lot more than the last; I guess I’m too much of a “science” person to truly enjoy the anthropological stuff; I was much more interested in the chemical/biological basis for zombification.
