WORTH CONSUMING!

I have read the entire series. I really adored the books up to book ten, after which the books become tedious and pointless.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

i had high expectations for these books, which might be why i was so dissapointed when i read them. i stopped after the third one. i might eventually read some more, but i’ve got a ton of other things that i’m more interesting in reading at the moment.

I got hooked watching to movie, which BTW has a terrible Jim Carrey performance, but the kids and the ensemble is great.
I know this is not a comic, but I like it and I wanted to share.
Not for ages under 10, in my opinion, but it is not a den of evil like many believe, rather witty and alot like Terry Pratchett in a way.

WORTH CONSUMING!

An excellent series! I don’t have kids but I would surely enjoy sharing this with them if I did.

WORTH CONSUMING!

i agree with one of the other posters who said that the author’s condescending tone (excessively defining words that really don’t need defining, even for a young person) is a little annoying. i hope he lays off it in later books.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Yes, a charming tale. The author is a silly man, indeed, and I look forward to reading some of the other books in the series. Must be the masochist in me that likes to read about poor young children under duress and hardship at the hands of an evil uncle. One of those children’s books that acts as propaganda for books and learning, the childrens’ only weapons in their bleak and miserable existence.

Not bad for the type of book it is. I wish I had known about this series when my kids were young.

Fun little story with some cleaver kids. The narrator’s condesending tone got a little old, however.

I finished this book. It’s a very charming little book containing a very dark, devious story. I’ll probably give it about a B+ in my book review, largely because of the way it has to “talk down” to younger readers.

Tina bought me these and they’re quite entertaining.
