More food for thought from this ADD book that I’m still reading.

I closely match 17 of the 19 signs of ADD the author lists in his book, so I’ll definitely be bringing it up with my doctor the next month. My father has been diagnosed with ADD and dealt with it for many years, so chances are good that it is something I’m dealing with as well.

Interesting note in the book about a possible link between thyroid problems and ADD. I’ll have to check that out on PubMed. Ever since I had half my thyroid removed my supposed ADD ‘symptoms’ have skyrocketed. (Not to mention my normal body weight!)

I understand that many don’t believe ADD exists, so I’m still not committing myself to this as an answer to my motivation/attention/easy distractibility issues!

So far I’m not impressed. I really dislike the author’s chatty tone in the first chapter where he introduces us to two of his ADD patients.
I’ll give it at least a couple more chapters to see if it becomes useful.

I see that others never finished this book, too! Maybe we all have ADHD, lol!

Anyhow, this time around, I’m really getting something out of the parts that I AM reading. More to come in my blog.
