This is one of those books you’ll never forget. I first read this when I was about 13 or 14 and still own it and read it to this day, almost 20 years later. It is very touching and really shows the value of true friendships.

I knew what was going to happen. I had heard about this book since I was in grade school. My husband is sitting on the couch watching The Longest Yard cracking up & I’m next to him with mascara running down my face. Maybe it was the fact that the main characters are my daughter’s age, maybe it’s the fact that I can identify with their loneliness at that age. I’m going to recommend it to my daughter. Classic.
