A bit ho-hum, really, by comparison to, say, ‘Oranges’ or ‘The Passion’. Still, it’s more ‘Worth consuming’ than ‘Wishy-washy’, I think.

A beautiful, tender book, but something always gives in Winterson. However, worth reading for its lyrical celebration of the body. And the genderless narrator.
This week’s senior book. No writer I’ve ever encountered makes prose feel like poetry as Winterson does. A wonderful book that deconstructs our notions of love, gender, sexuality and writing.

My next book to conquer for the young femininst bookclub. So far it’s quite the summer read. Read my review over at Zuly’s Bookclub (www.zulyzu.com/bc).
