WORTH CONSUMING!

i absolutely loved this movie! i didnt watch it and look for the “Christian” underline thing, but i can see how people would make that connection. i loved the movie because the scenery and characters were amazing! (my favorites were mr. tumnus and lucyÜ) and the music was awesome… just amazing!

I thought it was pretty good, although I was not a big fan of the book as a child. I did find the lion death scenes a little gratuitous- esp. when they were dragging him up the steps. Perhaps it would be scary to a young child? I really felt it could use a PG 13 rating instead of PG?

Pretty, and faithful to the book, but utterly lacking heart. None of the performances, even Tilda’s, stylish though she was, came anywhere near being compelling enough for me to care about.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Disney’s latest venture into the sword and sorcery genre does not measure up to the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings series, or even the Never-ending Story, but it is sure to find a following among younger audience, thanks to some fine special effects. The C.S. Lewis stories of Narnia deserve a forum in film, and this is a good start.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Boring and completely predictable. The characters aren’t well developed in the film and I couldn’t care one way or the other what happens to any of them. This is one of the most poorly executed novels turned film I’ve ever experienced. Just terrible.

This is a beautifully shot and well acted movie. The story is wonderful and I wouldn’t see the Christian under-story without coaching. Sure, it’s there, but it’s not a good reason to skip the movie in my opinion. It’s been so long since I read the book that I didn’t know what was going to happen and found certain parts upsetting. I don’t know how young of kids I’d let watch it, though of course I don’t have to make that decision. ;-)

Horrible! Yet another good book gone bad when made into a movie.

Uhmm, o.k. I love the Narnia Chronicles, but I had to laugh when the beaver appeared. Being Canadian and all the beaver is overused satirically and lately the cgi or whatever it is they’re using to animate the thing looks like the beaver from Phil the Alien. Otherwise, I liked the movie although it doesn’t hold a candle to the book.
