Although Lana Turner is very good in this piece, it pales in comparison with The Great Ziegfeld – especially at the end when they decided to incorporate scenes from that movie instead of staging their own extravagant stage show. The Great Ziegfeld is such a spectacle it is hard to compete, but what is the point of doing a movie about the Ziegfeld Follies if you aren’t willing to go all out?
