Lao tzu channelling through Rilke — 4 years ago

Hearing Lao Tzu’s “Tao te Ching” voice coming through Rilke makes me wonder if there is something basic that both voices were drawing from, or if Mr. Mitchell is speaking through both of them as the price of translation. It doesn’t matter, because either way, I’m hooked. I love his stuff.

I am having a wonderful time with it so far. To me the poems are quiet, and contemplate and quite introspective at times. It makes me want to learn german as well, so I can savour the words in their original tongue.
