This was supposed to be a “non-scary” Stephen King book, but it gave me the willies anyway … I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Sadly enough, what starts off as a compelling haunted house story drowns (no pun intended) in a major mish-mash of silliness by the end. This could have been of the better later novels of King, and if not for the last hundred pages among his best.
Typical Stephen King: a bit too long, great characters, weird humour mixed with disturbing things. A good one.

I find it very hard to get into Stephen King books. Maybe someday I’ll finish it! Not in the near future though!
I’m reading this thanks to the influence of my friend Brie. And I’m captivated by it thus far.
