A story about this — 3 years ago
Borrowed it from the library, so I was a bit surprised by the amount of full frontal nudity in it. If you like Hugh Grant, you don’t get to see him at his best… his part simply serves as a catalyst for what is really a story about his wife’s awakening to her own sensuality. There is a thinly educational aspect to the movie. It strives to position the role of sex and nudity within the worlds of art and religion, and may give some viewers pause to think. I liked it, but didn’t love it. Perhaps it should get an Oscar for most memorable minor character, the old man outside the town saloon who keeps saying “F you” to each person who passes. Definitely not rated PG.
