One of the best books I have ever read period; It tells the story of the two surviving Delany sisters, who were in their own right achievers. Bessie was the second black female dentist to practice in New York, and Sadie became a teacher for the New York Public School System. Their brothers and sisters stories are featured here as well; what is quite striking is the fact that these women achieved during a time when it was next to impossible to do so, yet here are their stories. THIS BOOK IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
