The Virtue of Forgiveness — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

“Let your indulgence set me free” is the quote from The Tempest that encompasses the main idea of this documentary.

The warden of this prison is so right, the key to helping these people is education. Prison does nothing if the prisoners come out and are not prepared for a non-criminal life.

This documentary conveys ideas that are very important for people to understand. Prisoners have done terrible things that have hurt many, but that doesn’t mean that are not human beings. Those who sincerely regret what they have done are making an effort to redeem themselves and prepare themselves for a productive life while behind bars. Forgiveness is much harder than hatred and despite the terrible things these men have done, I hope their victims can “free” them so-to-speak.

The factor that these prisoners understand Shakespeare and attempt to use the principles in his plays to remedy their own inner conflicts just shows they are making an attempt.

I hope that these prisoners can be forgiven, forgive themselves, and become productive members
of society. Good luck to them!
