James Lileks is crazy-go-nuts. In this book he collects the most hair-raising of excerpts from vintage 20th-century American cookbooks and provides his own smart-assed commentary. Published in 2001, it’s the print version of his Web page of the same name (still available as of this writing, updated as recently as October 2005).
