Carried by The Killing Joke — 2 years ago

unimpressive art and one off stories that just don’t pop, but The Killing Joke is one of the best out there…period. Just not as good as his later stuff otherwise. For Alan Moore completists, or those looking for The Killing Joke

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

A pastiche of older (natch) Alan Moore DC stories. The art’s a turn-off, as is most art from the era. Most of these stories were extremely predictable, and one-issue throwaways, so didn’t take advantage of Mr. Moore’s skills. The only exceptions are the scene where Superman first shows up with the Swamp Thing, and The Killing Joke, which is embedded in this book. Still, not enough good content to warrant picking this up.
