not that great — 3 years ago
the book has a great premise, however, it seems to miss the point. the author seems to be trying desperately to make something out of nothing, and towards the end, it seems he throws in anything even remotely close to the subject to pad out the book and make it longer and perhaps therfore more legitimate.
it was ok, had some good points, but overall, doesn’t really say anything. and citing japan as a rejuvenile culture because of thier manga is completely wrong. i lived in japan for 4 years, manga and toy collecting has deeper cultural roots and has nothing to do with rejuvenalia.
overall, i guess i’m glad i read it, but now that i have, i know i didn’t need to.
