Last semester’s Lighting class (Advanced Photo) and this sem’s Experimental Techniques (Photo) have refocused my eyes and made me “think and see” in black and white. The Good German is an excellent example of artistry in lighting and shadow …but that’s about it. Clooney did very well in GNaGL and Syriana, two laudable movies that exhibit his range, but in TGG he’s rather flat. Chemistry between him and Blanchett? Lacking. Plot? Well…

All together this movie makes a good study for lighting geeks and a gorgeous way to waste your two hours.
