Coogan just disappears in Tommy Saxondale. He owns awkward comedy and beat Gervais to it by at least a decade. He may never get the accolades that Gervais gets because he never conforms to create happy endings. I am in awe of him how does he does this comedy. What gives him the ability to just see the worst parts of people and make them sympathetic or empathetic and recognizable?
This has been a Steve Coogan weekend and he is still and enigma. I have got to stop writing about him.
