I like slapstick and silent movies, so I thought I would enjoy this movie. However, the fact that it was silent only emphasized that the movie got almost no laughs out of me, and very few smiles even. Of course, even the better Mel Brooks movies make me feel as if I’ve sat through a barrage of unfunny bits to get to the few comic gold nuggets. So, it may be personal taste, but I really didn’t like this movie.
