This book, my companion since childhood, has influened my moral values, my apperciation of literature, and my prejuice towards the short story. I’ve read it several times a year since elementary school, and with each rereading the stories have new meaning in relation to my shifting circumstance and worldview. I always want to reccomend this book, but realize it could never be for others the companion it is for me.
