WORTH CONSUMING!

My daughter didn’t want me to read last night because she didn’t want me to finish the book. I’ll tell you this made me feel very good, because I did struggle to get her involved in the book in the first place. Tonight, we start Little House on the Prairie and I am happy about this because it not only gives us quality, educational time together, but helps me get her into a nighttime routine. I enjoyed the book, perhaps more than I thought I would. I do know that it gives me a lot to be thankful for in the way of modern conveinces and food. How a person could be heavy set in those times with all the physical labor and not too much in the way of fatty foods (they ate so many vegetables for dinner and not a lot of meat until winter) is beyond me. Excellent Read.

WORTH CONSUMING!

My daughter and I read Sugar Snow last night and enjoyed it immensely. I must say, I now know why these books grew on me as a kid. They are simple, yet engaging, and they can be read in sittings, as they are daily life driven and not plot driven. She now looks forward to our reads, which makes me happy because I didn’t think that this was going to work out and that she was too young. We are going to try and wrap this book up this week and start our next one next week.

WORTH CONSUMING!

We read 2 1/2 chapters last night and my daughter really seemed to enjoy it. She actually asked me to read “Laura” We read about Christmas and I really enjoyed the Aunt Eliza Panther story, we read about Sundays and that was nice to, but goodness, I couldn’t imagine having to be so solemn on my one relaxing day and then we read about the tree bear and the bear in the yard. Very fascinating.

WORTH CONSUMING!

My daughter and I have been reading this every now and then and read a few chapters over the weekend. We are enjoying the little storys within the story and also the Christmas story. I actually read ahead a bit about the panther and Aunt Eliza cuz I couldn’t help myself. If I keep the segments short, she enjoys. :)

WORTH CONSUMING!

My daughter was a little fussier with Chapter 2, but we survived especially when the big panther chase come and ended the chapter. Still very simplistic, more of a daily life story than a plot driven one.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Reading this with my 3 year old daughter, she may be too young, but we sure enjoyed chapter 1 last night. Very simplistic, but it reminds me of the life I am living here in good old freezing cold Wisconsin about now.
