The Treasured One — 2 years ago
Given my exhausted state come bedtime this past week, and that my brain power is directed elsewhere, it’s actually been pretty nice having slightly childish, non-taxing books to read. And as I don’t really do chick-lit, roll on David Eddings!
The first book, I thought, had an interesting premise. This one is a bit samey – new war, different compass point, same characters. There is an attempt at adding a bit of mystery in the hidden ‘helping hand’, but… meh. Somehow none of the characters seem as involved or vibrant as in the previous installment.
Still. Untaxing, and despite warnings that the series only goes downhill from here, I’ve picked up book three.
