Third book in Asimov’s Robots trilogy. Actually, I’m not sure if it should be called a trilogy…a series maybe? Elijah Baley, Earth detective, is called upon again to solve an impossible mystery, this time on the largest and oldest Spacer world of Aurora. His presence is resented and he himself is looked down upon as one of the backward Earthmen, but he doggedly plows on with his mission, which may determine the future of the citizens of Earth.
It’s quite interesting how Baley goes about solving the mystery, not so much through logic but by leaps of insight, something that Daneel, his humanoid robot partner, admires and seeks to emulate. The twist at the end was kinda interesting too.
