Doesn’t give a lot of practical advice (i.e. the nuts and bolts of how to build a sentence, a character or a story), so it won’t be all that useful to absolute writing neophytes. But the book does provide hints on inspiration (finding it and keeping it), and Bradbury fans will appreciate the insights into the author’s own writing style and habits.

The title is a bit misleading. I pictured him propounding a grand philosophy of writing, but the result is enjoyable nonetheless. It’s a collection of various essays and recollections on writing. It’s a very quick read and Bradbury is an excellent writer. Anyone who enjoys his work or has an interest in writing would enjoy this book.
