NOT WORTH CONSUMING

All the descriptions of this movie made it sound like it was about selling children on the black market. That part was like…10 minutes of the whole film. I understand it was indie, but there was no real development there.

I watch a lot of independent films and a lot of foreign films. If you are not used to either, you might not get through this one. It’s a sleeper movie, the characters aren’t developed, but I guess they don’t really need to be.

I don’t really understand why it made so many great reviews and accolades. This definitely isn’t a favorite of mine, but the actor who plays the main character, “Bruno” did a good job.

WORTH CONSUMING!

L’Enfant is a subtle and understated story about a couple who have a child and then make some difficult decisions. It’s a remarkable film with no music and an observational style that simply follows the characters around as we watch what happens. Beautiful shot and acted, it seems as if it’s a documentary shot on location with the participants, but it’s actually a carefully constructed film.
