Cat Bordhi’s book on the moebius loop is a bit of a one-trick pony, but you gotta admit, it’s a really good trick. The patterns are the same thing over & over again in different gauges, but the cast-on technique is clearly explained & was quite easy to pick up. This one’s a good addition to the knitting library.

I borrowed Cat Bordi’s book, A Treasury of Magical Knitting, from the library for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I needed to know how she managed to knit a mobius strip without any grafting (very important to the physicist in me), and secondly, I have been thinking that my fantastic alpaca yarn might be destined to become a shoulder shawl – something like this. I’m dying to try Cat’s mobius technique, but I must finish other things first! In any case, A Treasury of Magical Knitting is nothing short of a revelation. While I’m not crazy about the patterns given in the book, I love the technique and its possibilities.
