WORTH CONSUMING!
Refreshing! They taste great in summer time.
The only thing I think is weird about them is that they are a malt beverage. Back in the 1980s when I got introduced to these, they were called wine coolers – and they were made with wine.
How come the switch to a malt beverage? Is it a cost-saving tactic?
The old ones tasted slightly better, as I recall.
I am not even sure when the change happened. One day around 2002 or 2003 I was getting some food at a convenience store and I spotted one of these malt coolers. Could not find any wine coolers when I started checking out of curiosity.
Was this a 1990s change or a 2000s change?
