WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie was really inspiring. The woman photographer in this movie really went out on a limb and put herself out there to help these kids get out of the red light district. And she taught them photography as a way to express themselves and to see the beauty in their lives and environments. This documentary also makes you see how lucky we have it. Of, if you are practicing your Bengali (or Bengala, have you), you can use it with this film, since it’s shot in Kolkata. The kids speak it, but of course they have English subtitles.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It wasn’t really what expected. I was thinking it would be a story that takes place in this environment rather than a documentary.

A very interesting look into a part of the world whose existence is rarely acknowledged.

My one complaint, if you could call it that, would be that children seemed very coached. Perhaps it was years of Zana living with them that made them question some things about their environment, but I’m not sure how someone that hadn’t seen any different would know to be outraged. TV maybe?
