The one where Brother Brutha meets the Great God Om, and discovers he He is a tortoise. Bummer.
Y’know, I can’t think of any real laugh-out-loud moments in this book, but it was still fun. Mostly, though, it comes across as a very cutting damnation of the very concept of religion, and I approve wholeheartedly of PTerry’s views on the matter. That said, I can’t really see it offending non-athiests, either, as actually god(s) do exist here, and are very vocal about it! Faith is probably getting nice things said about it – and of course that’s an entirely different concept to the religion(s) getting a slating!
Bizarrely, I probably feel more positive about the Omnian religion than any real world ones. If god was really so real, and so flawed, he/she might be easier to take, y’know?
