I sort of liked this book. I found it dragged a bit near the end – editing could have chopped some and the story would still be powerful. I liked the story itself and the character growth and development. It’s a bit of a depressing book and not one to read if you are depressed. I liked her book “White Oleander” much more than this one. One thing I loved about this book was the poetical quality of the writing. The prose is steeped in poetry which added a unique dimension to the writing.
