Missouri genealogist Torie O’Shea looks into the death of her great-grandfather, who died fifty years ago. Torie had always been told that her Great-Grandpa Nate died “in a hunting accident”, but she receives an anonymous mailing of newspaper clippings about the death which suggest that Granpda Nate was murdered. Torie tries to sniff out the truth, all the while worrying that she is going to find out one of her own family members is a murderer.
