WORTH CONSUMING!

Haven’t seen this since it was on at the cinema, where I vaguely remember being a bit underawed. Worked much better this time, on a smaller screen and with less expectations. Hugo Weaving is pretty amazing to manage a whole performance with no facial expressions whatsoever! Natalie Portman strangles an English accent, but there are certain scenes where she just gets hopelessness down perfectly.

The story was pretty good, imo – how easily a nation will give up freedoms, how far people will go for that control. The back story of V, however, could have been a bit stronger.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie was one of the best I have ever seen. Natalie Portman is one of my favorite actresses and her acting in this movie is simply amazing. I would give it a 10/10.

This movie kept popping up in my surroundings; people mentioning it, in the media. I saw this along with “Batman Begins” in a bargain bin at Safeway and bought it. Should be good, just because.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

v isn’t for vendetta it’s the roman numeral for 5, which is about how long this movie seemed, 5 hours. i know i am not in the norm, pretty much everyone liked it, and i got the message of the movie, but this barely kept my interest.

WORTH CONSUMING!

WOW! This was a fantastic film – one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. A very long time. As so often happens, I’m seeing it ages after everyone else did, so probably no one will be interested in talking about it anymore, so I’ll just say that I LOVED it, and leave it at that. 10/10 (can’t remember the last time I gave a film this rating).

WORTH CONSUMING!

Having read the graphic novel, I had some expectations. I think the movie had some good updates to the original material. Despite what I remember being an important element of the printed work being changed, I really enjoyed the movie. Cheers to what others have already posted about themes and relevance. Good effects and a nice balance of action and story also add to thefun.

EXCELLENTMOVIE! I never much cared for Natalie Portman before Garden State, but I’ve since come to respect her as an actress and she did a good job of reconfirming that in this movie (despite her questionable mastery of the British accent). Hugo Weaving is, as ever, brilliant.

I could have so much more to say about this film but I don’t want to give anything away. That said, I highly recommend it. It does make you wonder how far a government will go, i.e. secure peace vs. prepare for war, essentially.

WORTH CONSUMING!

If you haven’t seen this movie, may I take a moment to recommend it. It is by all means Orwellian in its nature. It pulls no punches delivering a series of mini-stories wrapped into a greater story of character. When push comes to shove. When you trade freedom for security. Just how far would you let it go? Would you stand up to the adversity? Do you have an incline of the character it would take to do such a thing? I’m not sure I did, maybe I still don’t, but I have a lot better clue and it is astounding. This movie gripped me. It held me with a fantastic dialogue, superb acting, and themes so close you don’t have too much trouble seeing them–relating to them. Be warned that beyond its deep thoughts it is a graphic movie and not suitable for small children.

When you’re done watching this, did you find your character stronger?
