WORTH CONSUMING!
This book is absolutely a good read. I mostly enjoy the vernacular though at times it is difficult to understand/follow – just slang for a different period in America. Claude McKay uses words that I did even know exist like rakish meaning immoral, yet some terms seemed to have withstood the test of time like ‘broad.’ One colloqualism that I liked was f.o.c. meaning free of charge. Crazy how the dictionay has evolved over the decades…
