The local cinema is having a PedroFest, in honor of his new film, and the current state of cinema is dismal, so on Sunday Solar and I went to see Matador. Matador is one of Almodóvar’s early films, and it’s quite something. First, it’s straight out of the eighties – the shoulder pads and earrings are a sight to behold! Second, there’s some weird sexual fantasies out there. I had the particular pleasure(?) of sitting in front of a heavy breather in the theater. Certainly adds a whole new dimension to the film.
