A story about this — 2 years ago
Birds Flying Away was my least favorite Mason Jennings album for the longest time. Perhaps it’s a little less accessible than his previous efforts (or maybe that was entirely in my head). When I finally got around to listening to it closely, I fell head over heels in love with it! Birds Flying Away includes many of my favorite Mason tracks: “Duluth,” “Black Panther,” “The Mountain,” and “The Light.” Oh, and how could I forget “United States Global Empire”? The album is one of Mason’s most political and passionate. And he totally rocks out! If I felt alienated by the saxophone solos on a couple of tracks, the fault was entirely mine. Birds Flying Away is another stellar effort from Mason Jennings!
