WORTH CONSUMING!

This book came into my reading queue at just the right time. We’ve been eating vegan and increasingly raw for a while now so reading a hip little book advocating some of that lifestyle is a nice fit.

Skinny Bitch is definitely not a book for every gal – particularly if you’re the kind of gal who gets offended by vulgar profanity and descriptive chapters of slaughterhouses.

To be honest, the vulgarity sometimes got a bit old and repetitive. While the messaging and general ideas definitely worked they definitely could be re-packaged a bit better. I get the whole ‘trying to be edgy’ thing and obviously it worked – I picked it up just for kicks and it was worth it.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The diet and the meal plans found in this book are extremely unrealistic. One of the suggested breakfasts was cantaloupe. Nothing else. There is no way in heck that I’m surviving to lunch on a bowl full of cantaloupe.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Extremely vulgar, and I’ve noticed that I’ve been swearing more since I read it (normally that’s something I wouldn’t even consider doing) but I liked the message and really think that veganism is going to help with my reproductive/weight problems. Time will show.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Good reminder of what we should and shouldn’t be eating if we want to lose weight.

But …

The book is very vulgar with its swearing (yes, including the “F” word) which got tiring. The authors are vegans and are VERY anti-meat. I skipped over most of the chapter entitled “You are what you eat” because it graphically detailed slaughterhouse procedures, complete with quotes from those who work in them. I applaud the authors for not eating meat but didn’t appreciate the way they tried to shove it down my throat so graphically.

I’m not sure that consuming this will actually make me a skinny bitch. The pages are loaded with calories

this is intersting, funny… they tell it to you in a very mattero f fact way – which kind of makes you want to slap them, but you laugh and the stuff about animal slaughter etc is very full on not finished yet – so many different views on eating – this is just another one told in a new style – think organic thing is correct too,

WORTH CONSUMING!

I actually bought this kind of ironically, to get to gloat over the obviously bad advice and shitty values the title and cover seems to promise. To my great surprise, those things are a clever ruse – there sneakily to smuggle out the best absolute beginner’s book in a vegan yoga lifestyle I’ve come across.

They’re right on about getting dairy, sugar, and meat out of our diets and eating organic, natural foods.
