A story about this — 3 years ago

I picked this up totally by chance outside the Brookline Booksmith, for a dollar—and had no idea that

a) it was based on actual events, and
b) it’s about to become this big movie.

Anyway, the book is pretty good. Not high literature, but spooky and competently written. I cared about the characters. And it took me from Boston to New York on the Chinatown bus, which is something.

It is great to see where Armistead Maupin went when he finnished the Tales of the city series. A great development of his style and literary qualities.
A book which can be seen as semi-biographical.
