I love this movie. And I didn’t expect to. I actually fell asleep the first time I watched it…the beginning was pretty slow. I woke up and got sucked into the story, so I searched back through the disk to the last part I remembered and paid more attention. Now I own it.

Worth viewing for the incredible multi-layered storylines and techniques used by Hitchcock to interrogate the scopophilic urge in us all.

It’s got murder, flashbulbs, suicidal spinsters, Jimmy Stewart in a wheelchair, twirling party ladies, depressive songwriters, sex crazed newly weds, a dog in a basket, a wise cracking nurse and Grace Kelly in a frock to die for. AND of course perhaps the best kiss ever. All wrapped up in a technicolor whodunnit caper that implicates us all in its voyeuristic pleasures.

What’s not to like?
